Working Moms: Don’t “Go It Alone” During the COVID-19 Lockdown (Part 3)
Updated: Oct 23, 2020
Welcome to what feels to be the 5 millionth day of lockdown for the Coronavirus Pandemic and to step three of a simple four step process that will get your partner engaged in active ownership of childcare and schooling during tis crazy time. Like most working Mamas out there, you are probably stressed, exhausted and overwhelmed with doing #allthethings.

The good news is that if you’ve made it through Steps 1 and 2 of this process, you’re well on your way to not going it alone! And if you haven’t OR if you need a refresher, you can find the details here:
Since we’re all crunched for time, let’s dive right on in to Part 3 of this series.
Step 3: Command Central
After working through Step 2: Divide & Conquer with your partner, you have both agreed to a baseline plan. There is an understanding of how childcare, schooling, household management and work are going to be managed. Now, it’s time make the plan visible. Why? So that:
There is no misunderstanding as to what has been agreed to
Everyone is on the same page
When anyone deviates from the plan, they can be directed back to it
There is a reference point as you move forward
There is absolutely no need for your family’s Command Central to be Pinterest worthy. Remember, we are in survival mode so usability is more important that aesthetics. It can be in electronic format - Google Calendar, Cozi, etc. Or you can go old school - whiteboard, printed weekly calendar, etc. Team up with your partner (and even your kids!) to decide what will work best for all of you, throw it together and get it out there for all to see.
